View Full Version : Decent Eyes for Etek?

One of our teammates recently picked up an older Etek for a song; he paid $160 because the previous owner didn't want to put in the money for new eyes. The gun looks good and no other problems have been noticed with the gun even when we had it checked out by our pro-shop, other than needing eyes.
So, my question is this: What sort-of eyes would you recommend for him to pick up? Are there differing degrees of qualities in eyes? We have been told to go back with PE eyes and then told to try Virtue. What do you guys think?

I use the virtue laser eyes. They work as good as stock, but its pretty nice to be able to see if the eyes malfunction

Seconded.
And it's that extra little bit of bling that makes the smile that much broader. :D

Honestly, there is nothing wrong with putting stock eyes in it. Aftermarket eyes would just be for bling, which while cool, isn't necessary.

If you have to get new eyes anyway, I would go with the nicer ones. performance-wise, no difference

So...if there is no performance difference, then why should someone get the more expensive eyes?
Do they really do nothing for you?

I would say stick with the stock PE eyes, simply because they fit better, they are cheaper, and they work just as well as the Virtue Laser eyes.

I have the Virtue Laser Eyes in my etek2 but I only put them in recently when I bought the OLED board. I never had a problem with my stock eyes so I guess it's up to you whether you want to dish out a little extra to get the laser eyes or not.

its my opinion that when it comes to functional/operational pieces, stock parts are almost always the best option. PE designed the marker from top to bottom, so why not just go with the OEM replacement? just my two cents, bro...

oh, hey man... my last post was not at all intended to be a slight against you or your virtue eyes at all! my bad if it sounded that way. i just find that OEM parts, as a general rule, are already spec'd to the necessary tolerances and less problematic than an aftermarket item. virtue has been around for a long time and have a solid rep, so i am sure their stuff is top shelf. my bad, bro...
