I use a Magna, but lately it's been giving me grief. I don't have much choice when it comes to paint. some of it is misshapen and jams my Magna. Even with the Freeway anti-jam. Not sure if I'll end up getting a Rotor at some stage.
Maybe I need to start a thread about Magna drive magnet patterns and their effectiveness.

IMO Rotor is the best, followed by the torque

I have the strange problem with the Magna where it'll jam until I unclamp the feedneck. Then sometimes the next ball in the stack will fall into the breach, sometimes not. I didn't think that the shell and the Halo feedneck were that tight a fit so as to stop the paintballs from feeding. If I keep having problems with it, what can I do (except buy another shell or full hopper.

Empire acutally has a loader called the magna. Its its own beast.

03-16-2009, 01:30 AM
My bad. I read the box wrong.
The loader i'm talking about is the Empire Magna, yes. But on the side of the box it says "Halo Technology Inside" What I failed to realise is that it's the Rip Drive that's the Halo Technology.

My bad.

I love my pinokio. Feeds when you want it to. great on batteries, if you break paint, cleaning it is as easy as running water through it and drying it out. only problem i've ever had with it, is easily fixible, and it just plain works when you want it to.

Used to play with a Halo B w/V35 board until the Rotor came out. Got a rotor recently and haven't touched my halo since. Rotor is definitely an awesome loader although I never had problems with the halo. You just can't beat the durability of the rotor and the fact that it only takes 3 AAs and needs no tools to take apart.

Well guys, I sold my Halo to one of my teammates and stepped up to a Dye Rotor.
I even picked up a quick feed top so I can switgh out the tops depending on the weather. If it starts to rain I can put the flip lid top back on. I used the quick feed top this past weekend and it work pretty good. Paintballs would fall out some times when on it's side, but, over all it worked pretty good.

I use a Halo with a V35. As stated by JinTae, my only complaint really is how much of a pain batteries are to change.
The batteries are a pain in the butt to swap in the torque as well....a VERY big pain in the butt. But, I'll still use it, and eventually get a Rotor.

I got my Torque today, and my initial impressions are that it's a POS. The "manual" that comes with it is a joke, disassembling it is a pain in the butt, replacing the batteries requires disassembling it... which is a pain in the butt, putting it back together is a pain in the butt. It better have some damn impressive feed and battery life, or it's going back in the box to collect dust.

Jeff, i know how you feel, and all i can say is that its going to take a little time to appreciate it.. taking it apart and putting it back together is the main thing.. other than that, you can expect pretty good battery life out of it.. I dont normally run with the 2 9v, but instead use the 6 AA batterypack, with the provided harness.. it extends the battery life much more.. the torque was originally made of abs plastic, and it made it virtually indestructable.. when they came out with the loudmouth they switched plastics to be able to achieve some clear colors..making it a little tougher to disassemble.. give it till fulda and i'll show you a very easy way to take it apart and put it back together.. yeah i agree the instructions suck.. buti know all the ins and outs of it. i was asked to attend a few major tournaments when they debut'd as part of our sponsorship offer.. and like i said, we all used them for a couple of years and had no complaints.. hopefully it works out for you..

we used to be sponsored by hardcorps and we all used torques.. i cant say i really ever had a bad episode with a torque.. other than the slip drive noise.. but i guess it eventually got blocked out...and for the price of it, it was a hands down over all win.. I really like my rotor as well.. specially with the expanded capacity shell..
The Halo's and VLocity's feed great and all but they go through batteries like a fat kid goes through cheeseburgers..

A broken PB from my pod entered my rotor at the NE M&G game. The same has happened to my pinokio and I was able to clean most of it up. However, with the Rotor it took half the time and it was easier to do.
I need to mod the pinoki nosecone to the front of my rotor for complete paint-stomping bliss!

I have already voted for the Pinokio, but didn't post because I didn't have my Etek yet. However, for my preference, I still go with the Pinokio because I have yet to have any kinds of problems with it and I'm the heavy gunner on our team. Heck I have even used the Pinokio on my Azodin pump! And for me a simple wipe down with a towel cleans it right up.

Prophecy, I picked up the LTD kit for £69.99 ($111.01) and I love it, I got the RF chip but can't seem to get it to work with my EGO 10, no idea what I did wrong.. Mind you I only tried once and I never bothered again, sound activation works flawlessly.
I might pick up a Rotor when I get my EGO 11 (Hopefully the 11 SL) as it's nice to have a backup, but I think I'll keep my Prophecy as my primary as I love it, no complaints, a tone of features some I'll never use, but hell if I fancy a mess about I have the option.

They are great hoppers, easy as hell to clean and take apart. You'll enjoy it. Its one of the last hoppers you'll need to buy, however you may have to update a part on it but its minor since its a durable hopper.

Rotor is tough as nails, don't have to worry about the feedneck cracking.......it's jammed on me like twice, but that's what that little fin is for! All loaders can jam anywho.....
Prophecy looks cool for the built in RFID, but if I really want that......I can get it for the Rotor.....
The balance of the Rotor on the gun and the low front profile are sweet too. I also like the tool less entry!

Certainly very popular. Mike at Tech PB uses one exclusivly. I think they are uber-uggly but, I guess if you wanna carry that much ammo and not have to reload as much, that is the way to go.

Well since I just bought my PE before christmas and have only used tippmann cyclones, grav feeds for my pump and clip feeds for my TPX's I can fully comment to "How I like it"
I bought a HaloB with rip for the PE on recommendation from the guy at the store I go to. I have read pretty much good about it. the only bad thing is they say that sometimes dark paint wont be seen by the eyes. These reviews could have been very old and may have been corrected though.
Anyone have any experience? I know he said a few years ago it was the end all beat all and is still very solid although some of the newer high end have pushed it to mid trange status.
I play mostly woodsball and am a very conservative shooter. No "one case one kill" for me.

The Halo/Reloader series loaders are very solid. I had a Reloader B before my Rotor and would use one again any day. Great loaders, easy to program, pretty durable, and good feed rate. Mine was a battery hog though.
No "one case one kill" for me.
LOL I like 1 Hopper one kill
