Ego 8 firing way loud

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone had some tips for decreasing how loud my Ego8 shoots. 2 of my team mates have Ego 8s and theirs are significantly quieter than mine. Every shot sounds like a pistol going off which is kinda cool for intimidation but I'd like it quieter. I dropped my dwell to 9 and have my lpr slightly recessed from flush with the cap. Any help would be appreciated

You really need to watch how much you screw in your LPR, it will blow your noid....this happened to me...

Sideshow will tell you to keep your LPR flush...Im pretty sure lowering the dwell will help out...that didnt help you any?

What barrel you using? The stock barrel and most other barrels with the exception of the Stiffi or DeadlyWind barrels are loud as hell. It even varies from gun to gun....my Vicious 7 is actually fairly quiet, but my 9 was a fricking cannon.

Hm I'm using a Furious Lotus 14". I'll try turning my lpr flush and dropping the dwell more. Thanks

Yea mine was alil louder than normal on my 09 ego with the stock barrel i put a 14in hammerhead mofo on it that i bought from sobejohn and it quieted her done some to a better sound. I agree with everyone the dwell and a new barrel should help

yeah I'll try backing out the lpr first. I think 9 is almost the lowest it will go and still maintain a good rate of fire without shooting down. 12 is stock

Call eclipse and see if you can get an LP valve too. I use the LP Valve in my SL8R and its ungodly quiet for a poppit, my Ego9 is a good deal louder.

I actually think the stock barrel is the best sound signature IMO.
You could however go with one with more porting to quiet it a bit, maybe a Tear drop?

Good idea DriverJ I'll look into that. Thanks for the tips guys, I'm not really looking at switching barrels because my Furious shoots amazing but I'll try adjusting my settings more

i am new to the Ego family having just bought my 08 this week, but i will concur that it is LOUD. i think its louder than my old A5. i use a 10" CP Classic on it but surely that isnt whats causing it to sound like a 30-06? LOL

My 09 that I had was a cannon like Furby's and agian the 08 that I had sounded sweet. Not bad at all. But I have heard some sound like a cannon as well. I would suggest changing your barrel first as suggested.

I agree and posted it earlier change barrel out first and then try the dwell sweet spoting it and all

i think i'll stick with my barrel for now. if the booming gets to me i'll look into going over to a stiffi later.
