Okay guys, as some of you know, I dont know alot about high ends. So I am trying to learn as much as I can. Got a couple general PE questions. Normally I would just PM SideShow and ask, but hey a few more threads wont hurt to get things going around here and my post count is nearly in the negative. :D

Is Planet Eclipse owned by any other companies (like one of the big distributors)? Just curious on that one.

What is the main differences between the Ego, Geo? They both looked to be priced the same. Why have two high ends from the same company in the same price and performance range, if they are in the same performance range as I would assume since they are in the same price range...???

Another stupid question, the older Ego's, what modes do they have on the stock board??? The manual I was reading on the 05 wasnt exactly clear on that. And does the Eteks have different firering modes then the other two?

EDITED cause I read the sticky thread. It answered several questions. I just didnt see it till after I posted. Oooppps. :D

No Planet is Planet...

What is the main differences between the Ego, Geo, and Eteks???

This thread (http://www.eclipse-owners.com/showthread.php?t=130) should have the answers on the Etek vs Ego

The Geo is completely different than the Ego/Etek family.
The Geo is a spool valve internal system vs the ram driven, stacked tube poppit design.

I asked this in my other thread, but what barrels do they use? (Thread pattern)

All Eclipse markers use cocker threaded barrels

05-08 stock boards have semi/ramping modes, and they have loaded presets for PSP 15 bps and I believe millenium.

The Etek has the firing modes, the way you change settings is by LED vs the LCD screen on the ego.

I edited my other while you were posting. All the question I didnt find the answer to you answered. Thank you!

The Geo and Ego differences I find very interesting. So the Geo is more like the Matrix. And the Geo was just brought out recently, correct? Well that explains why they would have two markers in the same price range.

Is the Geo a decent bit quietier then the Ego? How does its sound signature compare with the Dye Matrix's???

Yeah the Geo is quieter than the Ego just because of the spoolie design. I would say that from seeing them on the field (I don't own a matrix or a Geo), the matrix is a little quieter. Geo owners say that the Geo is waaay more efficient though.

I have a speedball buddy who plays d3 psp and he owns both a geo and a dm9. He likes his dm9 over his geo but he thinks it's more of a preference on his part then one outperforming the other. He told me both are great spoolies if you're willing to put down the money. As for the difference in spoolies vs poppet valve there is a decent increase in sound. I shot a PM8 before trading it in for a fully upped etek 2 and I did notice that it was a bit louder but I got used to it after a while.

Okay cool. Not like I can afford a Geo or a newer DM by any means. I will however have an older DM this season, and I will have an older Ego or maybe an Etek2 this season.

Etek 2 is an amazing marker for the price. Can't go wrong with a nicely upped Etek

Yeah I have an etek 2 that came fully upped and it shoots really well. You won't regret getting one. I still love mine even though I have an ego as well.
