Fulda Gap 2009 at Command Decisions Paintball

Well, this past weekend was Vietnam Patrol, so now that that's behind us, the next big NC game is Fulda Gap in November. As of now, information is slim due to updates on the Fulda site. Lee Ann was telling me Saturday that they are going to cap at 1000 and have the biggest one yet. The game was awesome last year and I expect nothing short for this year.

As soon as registration opens, I think DeadBox and Fire Team Monty are going to register. Sides are yet to be determined. In an effort to exercise good customer service, by way of not shooting our best customers, DeadBox is planning on running with the OSF/OG guys out there. So, I'm going to try and maintain a list of who's running what side.

As this game is a good ways out, I know some won't know for a while, but I figure it won't hurt to get things up and running now.

If you haven't played Fulda or been to Command Decision, make this your first, it won't be your last.

I was under assumption in the Fulda rules, you had to run milsim, since it was a scenario "could have been" reenactment of sorts

There is a day before Fulda called the Platoon Leader games that is 100% mil-sim. That is usually on Friday (correct me if I'm wrong here).

But, Fulda Gap is Saturday through Sunday. It's a big scenario at a great field. No restrictions on marker types or Mil-Sim required.

I believe Ferg is going to move the Platoon Leader Game to a different date. Couldnt get enough participants on the Friday to make it as good as it can be.

SideShow, no milsim needed for Fulda. One of our main teams is sponsored by Planet Eclipse, so you know they are rocking Ego's!!! And they aint the only ones!

Gwalt, we have had players from Canada and one from Taiwan in past Fulda's. Flordia isnt that far... :D

Fulda will most likely be capped at 700 players this year. We had 618 last year and it was some of the most intense fire fights I have ever seen. Fulda is a unit based game. You sign up for a side and a specific unit. There is a command structure in place. It is a bit more structured then most scenario games. It is built off of the OK D-Day design. Each unit has a specific starting postion and specific goals. Anyone wanting to be a unit leader, hit Ferg with an email at info@cdpaintball.com

We had a pretty good write up in Paintball Sports magazine in April on Fulda if any of you saw it. We have tanks, field guns, air strikes, nuclear weapons, chemical gas attacks, oh my! Most likely I will be reffing this year. You know I have actually never played Fulda. I have either reffed or like last year took pictures. Its an interesting game. And we are getting alot of top quality teams playing Fulda. Lots of good people coming out for this event, and everyone at the field are greatful for the response from the players.

Morph my man, trust me, they try to make it as difficult as possible for people from Alexandder County to get booze . Of course they just make their own. But its best if those folks dont drink. Its better for everyone. Unfortunatly for us that live south of them in Catawba County, they come down here, outta the hills, to find booze. And once they find booze, they keep coming back, night after night. Its like when your in a national park and they tell you not to feed the bears. Same thing here. Imagine a drunk bear driving a camo 71 Ford Truck with a 12 guage in the back window trying to get your pick nik basket... Really, I'm not kidding.

So if you are drinking in your camp site which they dont have an issue with, ask before sharing if the people joining you are locals or not. Luckily the field is actually in Bethlehem and not Taylorsville as the address suggest. The people in Bethlehem are okay.

Its 13% abv looks like motor oil and is expensive as hell lol. Your only going to find it at places with a good microbrew selection like total wine. Though dogfish head IPA's can be found at alot of typical grocery stores.
