I recently bought a used etek 3 and when I engage the asa nothing happens except I hear kind of a mettalic fart noise. And when I disengage the asa air escapes so air is being stopped somewhere...but where? P.S. I do feel my lpr move a little when I air up...and my gun is not autockcocking obviously

If you air up the marker, try and push the bolt forward by hand. What happens?

Nothing. I can move the bolt all I want. Ok well. I might know what it is. The lpr screw is all the way in...idk where it is supposed to be. Could it be too far in and actually blocking the air?

Screw out the LPR until its flush. Then screw in one and a half turn.

I also recommend reseting the board to stock.

I will try that. Wont be home for another 5 hours but i'll message if that works

Yep. Give that a shot. That should do it.

Its amazing what kinda weird stuff people do to there markers. The tech guy I know bent the trigger frame, batteries, and broke the LCD screen on his Ego11. The only thing that was holding it togeather was the grips.

So I reset my LPR to normal. And it seems that it's not making the original noise...but a NEW one...this one is just more of a 'ting' but i hear air moving thru the marker. Also when I was looking onto where the LPR screws in...it looks like there is a hole in a piece of metal...I'm not sure if that's normal. But I'll post a pic to make this easier to understand.

Ok, so air is now moving. Now if you push the bolt forward, is air trying to push it back into place?

When does this "Ting" happen?

The hole should be normal.

Ok. right now I'm trying to get a pic up...but I can't do it cause it's on my computer, not the internet so I don't have a http to get it from. but:
When you take your LPR off the Etek 3, look into the hole that it screws over. and there is a circular hole in the middle, and it looks like a cresent hole on the right side of that hugging the side of the wall...it that normal?

Hoot

Yep, thats normal. Its where comes into the LPR from the HPR to reduce the pressure for the noid.

Check my last post plz.

ok. the cresent isn't a hole...but a dent...anyway. yes if I pull the bolt back. then air up there is a lot of resistance pushing the bolt back

First thing you want to do is check it with someone else's tank. This could be a tank/reg issue.

I know the hole in the metal you're talking about, and it's ok, it's supposed to be there.

hedshotz, is the cresent dent thing normal too?

Hoot
04-25-2011, 12:52 PM
Yeah, thats normal. Just a result of the milling when they make the hole.

So air is now making it to the bolt.

When does it make the ting that you were talking about?

when i screw in my air, it happens right as air is going thru the marker

Ok. I just got my bolt to go back (autocock) and I have eyes off but it won't fire anyway...progress but still not working

I think you'll find that noise is the air pushing all the pistons / springs / bolt into place and sealing. It happened in both of my Etek2's. Right when you turn on the air through the ASA.

ok. another thing...I found a leak... sounds loudest when I put my ear to it right near where the hose goes into the HPR

That needs to be fixed but, that shouldn't keep the gun from firing. Is the solenoid firing?

Have you tried reseating your macroline? That may be all it takes to fix that issue.

Not sure about the leak.

I did think of something else though.

Try adjusting the trigger out and increasing the length of your trigger pull.

Sometimes people adjust the trigger so far in that it's right on the point of activation.

I'd like to give it the extra millimeter or two of play and know my marker is going to work out on the field.

Idk. Thanks for the help guys but I just called the local pro shop where I bought this used and the tech guy said they'll fix it for free. But thanks anyway guys

Oh my freakin lord.

For anybody who was trying to help me fix my gun...I was makin ya'll think waaaaaaay too hard.

the trigger.

My 'friend' trying to mess with me screwed my trigger in too far and was past the activation point on the micro-switch to screw with me. Good thing I noticed that the trigger looked off before I drove 40 miles to the "local" pro shop.

Thats good. A lot of things with Eclipse markers are VERY high quality and rarely go down, it usually is either a battery or something dumb that happens.

P.S. This is a PG13 forum and swearing is not welcome. Please try to watch that.
