View Full Version : What Tank should I get?

I want a lot of air but don't want a lot of size. I was thinking of putting a drop forward on my Ego8 so I could use a 110/4500 Guerrilla Tank (http://guerrillaair.com/products.php?page=16) Or I could go with a Ninja Tank, like a 68 with out a drop.
But I guess I haven't used too many tanks to know which one I will like best.
Can someone help me out?

How much paint do you shoot every time you leave the staging area? How readily available is refills?

A 110 cu in would not be needed on an Ego 8 unless you are shooting like a case of paint between refills. A 68/4500 is pretty standard issue for most people. Based on customer service and the fact that they are made in America, I recommend Ninja products but, Guerilla Air and Crossfire are also good.
Its an Ego, you don't need a semi truck full of air to run the marker for a while. :P A 110 would be too big, even a 90 is huge for any PE marker. A 68ci is what I run and it works like a charm since it provides a good distance away with my long arms. With a tank cover it could also be a stock.

You'll get almost 3/4 of a case off a 68/45 so I would go with that. My personal brand preference is Ninja, but Crossfire has awesome tanks and cust service too.

Well then what ninja tank and reg should I get?
PE markers are low pressure and carbon fiber tanks are light as hell but have weight when full.
I would get a Carbon Fiber 68/4500 with a High Pressure reg as it could be used on any marker. If you other other markers then a LP reg won't do so good if the marker needs HP reg. Hell I could use my 68/45 with HP on my Ego as well as my x7c if I wanted to...

Alright, but what type of tank as in ninja tank? I know they have different types
I used Google and found this link:
http://www.ninjapaintball.com/product.asp?catID=80&subCatID=70
I see various sizes of ninja tanks but all are High Pressure Air.
Maybe I am not giving enough detail or something but I'm puzzled in what you are asking.

PE markers are low pressure and carbon fiber tanks are light as hell but have weight when full.
PE markers work better on high pressure tanks traditionally though. I have used a Crossfire Low Pressure (blue reg) tank on my EGO9 and at 20 bps it was able to keep up no problem.
You'll be better off finding a tank with a high pressure output (800-850psi).

Ok first off Ninja is the ONLY choice. Their customer service is like tippmann's. Also get a 68/45. No lp or super lp reg just a normal hp one which can be taken down to like 300 by removing shims. Also i got a ghost tank cause they are le. But basically what ever one looks the nicest too you. Also dont get the ultra light one cause the gauge is too small and the threads don't make a difference unless you try to screw it in at an angle.
To sum it up, one of these:

(I was pretty straight forward here but these are the best :))

Crossfire is also very good, haven't heard anything good about their new reg, but their old regs were awesome.

I've never used crossfire but i think G used them and he said only good things about them. I just like the look of ninja's better, so when you have two tanks that perform the same it comes down to looks (:

For me it comes down to customer service. Ninja takes very good care of the OG members, so for me that's how I decide.
And I have a tank with the new Crossfire Stealth reg on it and they're really nice. Takes a little length off the setup, and the LP reg keeps up with almost whatever you throw at it. You will see drop off in the higher, stupid ranges of rof, but not anything you would normally play with.
I support Ninja 100%, but I have nothing but good to say about Crossfire as well. Ninja's do look cooler, though....

as most people have stated get a 68. with the ego you will get 1300 + shots.
as far as brands stick to the USA brands
ninja
crossfire
cp
if you chose ninja then get the standard ninja, normal output. you can always change the pressure if you need to in the future and upgrade the bonnet to aluminum anytime you want.

MH, I think he is talking about the G2's built-in ability to swivel. This feature is useful when the refill nipple is digging into your wrist.
Point 1 - Ninja sells Ninja clips that allows you to do the same thing.
Point 2 - For some people, like me, I've never had that probem even when the nipple is at 90*. So it must come down to the way people hold their markers.
OP - Go with Ninja and you will never look back. Quality, affordable, many different sizes and shapes, and #1 customer service. OK, and they're quite sexy too!

This man speaks the truth! The 90ci tank tho is just about as tall as he is, however don't let his height fool ya. ;)

I dont have anything bad to say about any of the 2 systems.. And eventhough I love both tank systems, I do like the adjustable threads on the GA Myth 2 reg.. with my particular taste.I have it positioned so when the tank is completely screwed in, the pressure gauge is pointing up and the fill nipple is directly opposite and on the bottom of the gauge, for quick and easy fill access. Also the flush mount burst disks also prevent from any minor snags that can occur.. Regardless of your choice. Ninja and GA are 2 of the most reliable top of the line air systems in the market.... as you see in the video.. the reg is also completely rebuildable, ( i have yet one that needs rebuilding)
but i'm sure Ninja has the same reliability.. All i'm trying to get at, its a matter of choice or practicality.. you cant go wrong with either system..
