View Full Version : Marker not firing....

OK, here's the scenario....

Last weekend we played for about 4 hours while it was drizzly wet outside. After the 4th hour or so it just began pouring down rain so we all packed it in. This was the first weekend I got to shoot the Ego (I had planned on shooting my mech-trigger A5, but a new player needed a gun) and it performed flawlessly until the last little bit when I thought I was just out of air.

Well anyways, I took it home and cleaned it up. Once I reassembled it I attempted to fire and all I got was trigger "clicks". I put it in training mode and got nothing, only the sound of my trigger.

So, I thought I fried the board. Really no biggie....it's an '05 so I figured it could use a new board anyways. Well, today the new board came in. I installed it per directions...and still nothing but trigger. I know the eyes are working because the board shows when a ball is loaded.

I disassembled her (per the manual) and cleaned/lubed her, all per the directions. I thought maybe I missed something. I aired it up, and felt the air flow into the marker. Put a ball in the chamber...eyes sensed it...pulled the trigger and.....still nothing.

So, what now? The solenoid? How do I know if/when that is bad? Would the weather have caused it? I checked everything and all the o-rings and things are cleaned and lubed. So...where do I start?

Thanks....

if your only hearing the micro switch, and nothing else, and every other part is 100%, try first to putting in a BRAND NEW battery....get a energy paintball brand...higher amps then any store bought, but if that doesnt solve it, your noid is shot

Well...I just put in 2 brand-spanking new batteries...and still nothing.

So, I guess that means I need a 'noid....that sucks. **Newb question alert!!** Would the rain have killed that? And where can I get another one?

I have video of a PE sponsored team in europe, not only playing in the rain, but diving head first THROUGH mud puddles marker being totally immersed and still firing...its the noid.

I will call monday and get a price for one for you

Thank you sir. You're awesome.

If it isn't the water, then what could it be? Could it just be the fact that after 4-5 years it just gave up the ghost? I'm fine with that as an answer, I just don't want to keep committing the same errors.

Similar thing happened to my 07 yesterday.

I put in fresh Panasonic battery before the game and it didn't shoot. I took it apart, and checked through everything. Everything seemed to be in order and still nothing when I put it back together. What I did notice was that when I pulled the trigger the brightness of my frame display changed. So then I changed back the battery to my old energizer that I had taken out, and it worked flawlessly again.

After speaking with some guys, apparently some batteries don't work with the Ego's. because of the power output or something.

I'm sticking with Energizers from now on!

That is true, some just dont have enough amperage to keep up with the draw.

I really recommend picking up those energy paintball brand batteries. I know how some people would swear them as a gimmick, but they WORK. They have so much more output juice compared to duracell, energizer, lithiums, etc. They are really the best for our gear.

Hmmm...I have seen those $15 9v's at the local proshop and laughed to myself at the people that would buy them. I guess if they do work though, then I should lean that way.

I have tried Duracell, Energizer, Panasonic and another type that I don't remember and all of them give me the same results, so I'm thinking that it isn't the battery.

They should only retail at about $5.00 each.

Im waiting to open an account with them, just because now involved with markers other then tippys, I think its in my best interest.

I will let you know if i get on board with them

look at the output of every commercial battery.....it averages 90-490mAh

the Energy put out 1100mAh

The energy batteries last significantly longer than their counterparts.
