I have been playing woodsball for about 2 years, my main gun was a Tippmann 98. After many problems with the marker I decided to save up to get a new gun. After awhile I saved enough for an Etek 3 LT! And I'm very happy about my choice! However this is my first speedball gun and I don't know what anything means, for example LPR or how to program the board. Can someone give me some "need to know" things about speedball guns? Like what things means such as LPR, I feel clueless haha. Thanks for the help!

Fisrt off hello and welcome to the forum, if you can post up a pic of your marker as we all love eye candy.

The manual of all pe markers is great and should have all the info you are after in it.

The LPR is the low pressure regulator

Easy thing to know is your marker works like it should out of the box, things you adjust or play with will do more harm than good. So use it stock for a few games and if you feel the need to adjust things after learn as much as you can before you do.

You should know it's a great marker, make sure you register it with pe when you get it. There is a form in the back of the manual to fill out and send in.

Read the manual and then read it again

Only use pe OIL on everything except the regs which take pe grease or similar product. Only use a high pressure air tank "HPA" and not co2 ever. Get yourself a good quality loader and go out and play. If and when you are thinking of getting a upgrade for your etek post up or search first. Most of us have bought everything at least twice so we have a good idea what works and what doesn't.

PE doesn't make speed ball markers. Beleve me the only markers they make are multi purpose markers. I play speedball, woodsball, senerio, or what ever with my Ego it will shoot anybody, anywere, at anytime. It has no prefrences. It just wants to shoot people. Enjoy it bro! LOL.

Only use a high pressure air tank "HPA" .........

Not to hijack the thread, but, is a HP reg mandatory? I'd not heard this & am currently running a 48/4.5k w/ a Myth reg (med press, i.e.:650psi). I had some issues a couple weekends back & wasn't sure if this might be related. I seemed to have worked them out, but was just curious.

Oh, welcome to the forum! This is a great community & has a TON of info & tech talent available. So soak it up! Pics, pics, pics, pics....

Welcome to the forum and I want you to know I love my Etek3 LT! So easy to use, so easy to maintain, so difficult to break it.

When you get it, don't do anything except adjust the velocity to 280/290fps.

After each case I like to clean the bolt and put a single drop of oil on the orings.

After about 6/8 cases I like to take apart the HPR and LPR, wipe clean, and apply a thin coat of the PE grease. The manual has great pics and instruction on how to do this.

Programming the board is also pretty easy if you can count LED blinks. Again, the manual is written very well and has big pics to go along with it.

I would wait until after you've shot about 6/8 cases before 'dwell tuning' the marker. This give the springs and orings a chance to break in. This step is not necessary, but some people just like to fine tune their marker.

If your not getting any breaks with the included Cure 1 bolt, then there really is no need to spend money on a Cure3+ bolt.

I have heard from others that the reduction in kick is very minimal going from the stock Zick1 to the Zick2. It may not be worth the money but this is up to you.

Personally, the only ups I would spend my money on is either some different sized Shaft III barrel backs or a DW Barrel with Freak inserts. I would also upgrade the trigger to a roller-bearing Violent Series trigger. That's all it really needs.

A nice option that is more luxury than necessity is a board upgrade. Now with the LT version you have two choices. The first choice is the PE Emmortal Board (comes with a display) which will require yo uto purchase the AM Upgrade kit since it cannot be installed in the LT version. Your other choice is to go with APE's OLED board whcih will require you to swap out your stock grips for a pair of the flat panel SPD grips. Let me know if you're thinking about boards and I can give you some additional info about the APE board.

To make sure you don't have trouble always run a High pressure reg with an etek. Some say they can use a mid or low pressure but under high rof you can get drop off.

You can run LP on egos, I ran one on my 6 for a day and didnt have a single problem at all. I would suggest running HP because you can and it wont hurt a thing.

Play with it for a couple of days and then decide what you think needs to be upgraded. I upgraded my trigger, but found myself liking the stock trigger more than what I upgraded to.

double a

i run a guerilla air 68/4500 w myth reg mid pressure on both of my ego 9's and have had no dropoff problems at all with it. ramping/semi is just fine. you should be good to go. one ego has cure 3+,zick2 and stock board, the other has a virtue board, z2 and a hush bolt...both shoot flawless with the ga tank @ mid pressure...works fine on both my etek 3's and when i had it my geo+ shot fine as well.
