Looking to upgrade the bolt on my Etek 3.
I definitely want a quieter shot which makes me lean towards the hush.
but then i heard the hush creates alot more breach wear the cure bolts.
If anyone could me decide on which bolt to buy that'd be great.
thanks
The Hush bolt doesn't really change the sound enough to make a difference. It more muffles it.
I recommend sending your Cure 3 to Pooty on PBN. Jump over there and search around a bit and you'll see it.

I am pretty sure he, Pooty, also works on Hush Bolts if you have your heart set on one.

I've got the stock bolt in my Ego09(cure 2). I don't much care about sound, for me its preformance, and dependability. As long as balls aint braking in the marker, I'm good.

My 06 is LOUD......just trying something different. I hear newer pe markers that are much quieter during play and I want to be like them lol

I'd go with the Pooty'd Hush bolt if you want to change the sound signature of your marker.

What he said ^^^
I noticed the biggest sound signature difference when I paired the Hush bolt with the Deadlywinds Fibur barrel. Made a huge sound difference for my 09.

Yeah....like I said, we'll see how it works. I'll try the hush if I don't like the cure 3

I would highly, highly recommend the Pooty modded Hush Bolt!! I just ran one for the first time yesterday in my Ego 11. I saw an increase of +20 fps at the chrono immediately upon switching from the Cure 3 with no other changes. That right there tells you that your efficiency just went up pretty big. The sound signature was noticeably lower. My first game yesterday with a Brand New Ego 11(600 shots) I got 5 pods and a hopper off of only 2000psi in a 68/4500 tank.
I'm very impressed and saw all I need to see to believe in the product!
I'm going to actually say the same thing as Greekbull said.
I used my new Hush bolt yesterday for the first time with paint in a game and noticed a good jump in FPS, and sounded a little better.
Mine isn't Pooty Modded but I'm slightly considering it.

Yeah CrashX I think you'll be very pleased. BTW in case you didn't know it's cheaper just to order the entire modded bolt straight from Pooty for $60 rather than buy a hush bolt and then have it modded.

ya i saw that, and just to make certain...it will fit on a Etek 1 eh?

I do believe all the ego/etek bolts are interchangeable as long as you have the correct bolt pin.

I'm running a Cure 3+, and love it. Very smooth shooting, with no breaks after 2 cases. My only gripe is the bolt is starting to show wear already! I've already emailed Pooty, and for $25, he'll square me away. When I get a week off of the fields, I'm definitely going to ship my Cure 3+ out.

He's very fast with the mods.....Shipped mine to him on a Friday, from NY to CA, and had it back in my hand in less than a week.

I have used Hush bolts for the last 2 years in everything from a '10, '11, and an eTek3. between those 3 guns, I've probably shot 12 cases of paint without a single chop - ever. I don't even give the Cure bolts a chance. I swap 'em out with a Hush bolt 2 seconds after I open the box. It is hands down the best upgrade for an ego at this time. The Pooty mod makes a phenominal bolt even better.
For anyone experiencing excessive breech wear, I recommend cleaning and oiling your bolt before each game. With the bolt being exposed, it will ingest dirt, sand, and all sorts of foreign matter that will act like sandpaper in your top tube. It is a practice I've followed for years and it's one of the reasons why my guns stay immaculate. The Pooty mod will help cut down on breech wear immensely and I highly recommend it.

I've heard you only want to oil your bolt rings. Coating the bolt with oil will make the particles stick to the bolt and cause excessive wear. Since the bolt is made from delrin there is no need to lubricate it.
Then again, I believe what you're saying and I'm perplexed as to why your breech is not scratched up.

I just keep it clean, man. Pooty modded bolts only need oil on the o-rings. Also, I forgot to mention that I run a barrel mop a few times through the top tube to keep it clean in there too.

Man I just played with the Pooty Hush for the second time and I'm just getting ridiculous efficiency. Over 700 rounds with 2000 psi with a 50/4500. I'm just in awe. I'm excited to see what I can shoot with it when I'm carrying more ammo. We were running quick speedball games and I was only carrying 5 pods. I was refilling my HPA which was getting up to 3800 psi off of the fill each ammo refill and I'm just laughing showing Nashorn my gauge which is still sitting at almost 2000 psi.

I just got a chance to run my Pooty Cure 3+. I noticed a jump in FPS of about 10-15. Once I get a few more cases through my etek, I'll start seeing how far I can drop the dwell.

The Cure 3+ is a nice bolt for recreational players. I did upgrade to the Pooty mod Cure 3 bolt and the accuracy was what I notice the difference in. No chopped paint, and great hits is the efficiency you should be looking for. Forget about HUSH and trying to be quieter unless you definitely are the loudest gun out there.
With increased accuracy using the modified bolt, you wont need to use as much paint to eliminate others because you will have dead aim (assuming you are using a decent quality paint).
If you are torn btw the Cure 3 mod or the HUSH mod, I believe either one will serve you justice, but dont buy it because it is "quieter", get it because of the benefits to your game.
