This is a very simple question.

What board do you actually USE in your Eclipse Marker?

What are your thoughts of it?

Are you planning on upgrading in the future or are you content with what you have?

Since I have several Eclipse markers I have selected multiple boards.

In my SL8R, 09, SL74 I use stock boards. I don't need any features on those markers that are not offered by the stock board, and they work great.

On my Etek I use a Star Frame stock board, as I did not like the LED light on the stock frame, and the stock board has plenty of features on the star frame.

However on my 06 Dark Ego, the screen was starting to go out, as it was getting old and I'm atleast the second owner of the marker. I decided since a stock board new was almost as much as a like new used Tadao Yakuza I'd go with the OLED.
The display is beautiful, I like the feel of the micro switch trigger, the extra modes are fun to play around with and the adjust ability on the board is phenomenal, and I think the battery life is a bit better, but haven't used it enough to make a good conclusion on weather or not the battery life is better, or it was a fluke.

I bought my '06 with the Tadao M7 board in it. It's been great thus far, but I don't think it would warrant buying over the stock board. I wouldn't buy it if not for the fact that it came with the marker.

Is the Star frame really worth it? I have the stock Etek board right now but should I invest in a Star Frame or just save up and upgrade to an Ego later?

I think it is worth it. PM Sideshow about pricing. I'm getting mine at special pricing. So I can't tell you what I'm paying for mine. Unfortunately I'm not getting mine from Sideshow though.:(

Do any of these boards for a Etek2 allow you to go burst or full-auto without 3-4 shot semi-auto before going into mode of full or burst?
Using a stock frame NOT a Star Frame.

Like the Rampage/APE board for the Tippmann A5?

If so what one? Thanks!

Which boards (other than stock) have display screens?

In your opinions do you think it is better to have a screen or not? All I have used is my 05 stock board, and I like having the display.

The new Virtue OLED has a screen that displays through a window on the left side of the gripframe.

I guess I'm just really spoiled with having the display in the stock location but I still want a little better adjustability. Hmmmm....

In my etek 2 I used the stock board for a month and then I upgraded to the star frame and used the stock board in that for about 3 months and recently I upgraded to the Virtue OLED board with the Virtue Laser Eyes. The Virtue OLED is nice and I didn't know this till after I bought it and installed it but with the Virtue board you only use the top two buttons on the star frame. The bottom button becomes useless because of the way the board is set up but it's not bad since when you want to change different modes you can use the trigger to toggle through like the older Virtue boards. Also the Virtue board has all those drills which some may say are useless but they get fun to play with when you're bored at home and want to practice.

I just have the stock board in my Ego9 but I want to get a Tadao board for it I hear alot of good things about them and better features than stock. But since I am new to high end electro's I dont know exactly how much better they are.

I use the stock board in my 08 Ego, and I don't see the need to upgrade it. I like the ramp mode, as it is easy to shoot both semi and full auto at the same time. In fact, I don't really see upgrading anything on my Ego.

I have a stock board as far as I know (I got my Ego used). I really haven't researched enough to decide if I want a different one or I'll be happy with the stock board.
The LED screen says EGO when I turn it on so that's what makes me think it's the stock board.

Mine has only come out of Semi on a rare occasion, so for all else I have to say that the Ego8 board has been the best easiest, most comprehensible board to work with so far. Three cheers for not having to care about colors or flashes!

I just use the stock SL board- in the future I may go Virtue OLED, but that won't be for a good while. For now there's nothing I need out of a board that isn't offered by the SL's stock PCB.

I too use the stock board, it does what it was intended to do pretty well. The new OLED's are sexy, all the crazy modes/settings are tempting, but I couldn't justify paying that kind of money for a board that I wouldn't utilize. I play semi 98% of the time, so if I were to consider one or the other...I would go with Tadao. I remember reading somewhere that they are the best for semi players due to shot buffering feature, which I don't think anyone else offers (ATM).

Both my 07 and 08 are running with stock boards... I keep on looking at lists of features in the aftermarket ones and I can't seem to find much on them that I feel like it would improve either performance or feel... I mean, other than cosmetics, OLED boards don't improve overall performance or anything, IMO... nah, the stock boards offer me everything I could possibly need in the guns... thou if I HAD to go with an aftermarket, I suppose I'd go with Virtue...

Luigi, Virtue boards have been racked with problems over the years. If you ever do upgrade I highly recommend Tadao!!! The screen is pretty cool but, the thing I really noticed is how much faster it seems to shoot in semi-auto. The microswitch on the Tadao board is quite a bit more sensitive. Is it worth the money? Probably not. I had a gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket. That and some issues with the tournament lock switch on my stock board are the only reason I upgraded.

I've never tried a Tadao board so I can't say anything good or bad about them but I used to have a Virtue Redefined Board in my PMR and a Virtue OLED board in my 08 ego and I haven't had any problems with either or. Luigi, Mike, one of your teammates on the pimps, now owns my Ego with the Virtue OLED board and laser eyes if you want to take a look at it. I think the stock board PE makes is great and unless you have money to spare it's not really worth upgrading the board because I never really saw any performance differences. The virtue board does use the trigger and has different modes and what not but it's not like it helps you play better. My Virtue board worked more than fine whether it was in semi auto or psp mode. I never had problems with it firing faster than it should with the cap or had any issues even in the rain. Also never had problems with their customer service but that's just me. I'm sticking with the stock board on my ego ten.

The vast majority of them have been good. I had some friends with problems and after doing a Google search there have been several issues with their boards. Just an opinion. If you had a good experience that is great. I like to hear good stories better than the bad. ;)

Totally, "shot buffering" is wicked. Ever walk the trigger on a non-tadao board and evey so often it acts like it misses a beat, stumbles, or doesn't shoot when you thought it should? Either you didn't make a full trigger pull, or the board "missed" the trigger pull.

"Shot buffering" is a tadao exclusive as far as I am aware & goes something like this; say you are in semi mode and you are actually pulling the trigger 14 times per second, but you are only shooting 12bps. That's because all boards, other than tadao, only count the trigger pull if the bolt is in the "rest" or "cocked" position. Tadao's "shot buffering" counts all 14 trigger pulls (or all pulls within a 1 second frame), regaurdless of bolt position and translates that into 14bps (or however many bps you are actually pulling the trigger in that 1 sec frame)

oh nice, very well explained! I have a Tadao M6 in one of my DMs but I'm not sure it was supposed to have that feature... shoots nice and all, especially considering how lacking stock dye boards usually are.. on the other hand PE stock boards are incredibly feature packed, opto/switch option is more than most (if any) aftermarket board offers, and once you get used to the LCD screen there's no going back to counting blinking lights...

OLEDs are great too (got one on one of my Angels), very user friendly, but a bit touchy sometimes... again, stock PE boards just offer more than I'll ever need in terms of performance and adjustability... I seriously just rather spend the money I saved on the board buying more paint lol...
