So I have my ETEK2 upgraded with Zick kit, Cure 2 and Star frame. I was shooting it today, and I set my ROF to 22BPS just for testing purposes. The thing is that the ROF would not go over 16 BPS. Either my Star Frame is lieing to me or something i not working right. Any Ideas?


EDIT: I also have a Torque loudmouth 150. Maybe it cant feed fast enough?

You have to edit the ROF cap, regardless of what its set at, if the ROF cap is ON it wont go above what you program

The torque can go up to 25-30bps

Try another hopper, but the torque should be able to go past 16.

I doubt its the torque, Ive had mine over 20bps for laughs and giggles, and it kept up. He needs to troubleshoot his settings first.

Ah so if I leave the ROF cap on It won't allow me to go over 15-16ish? I think the max I saw was 17


Glad you don't think it is the Torque, because I was starting to look at Prophecies and Rotors.

If the ROF cap is on, look at what the CAP is set too, then turn the cap OFF and attempt

Ok so what I did was went in the settings via button on back of frame. Then went to MAX ROF and changed it to 22. Still can't get over 17 BPS for some reason.

Yeah Nix. You have to raise the rate on your Cap. Sideshow has you covered. Its not your hopper. No way.


Ill step back and let Sideshow handle this.

Also, check to see what you actually have the mode programmed too, just because your ROF MAX is 25bps, the ramp mode set might only be 15, and it will only GO 15...so you have to manually edit the preset to adjust to the ROF that you want

also if your eyes are OFF then check the max cap for eyes OFF, I keep my ROF for ON and OFF the same

Ok I tried everything. I changed my MAX ROF to 25 for testing purposes and I even took the ROF CAP completely off, and still no success. I tried ramp mode linear and ramp mode step no difference. Will call you back in a few Sideshow girl just got home.

Ok he says its one of 2 things, It is either the loader, or....most likely the fact that the Etek2 series are entry level Ego's and the solenoids are not as high end as the 08+ and cant handle the higher ROF regardless what the board says.

All good. I knew I should have bought on 08 EGO in the first place.
...but like you said on the phone I don't need to be shooting over 15 anyways.

Furby will let you get into it with his, he has gotten torques to get to 30+

ALSO dont do 9volts in the torque, not enough amps, do the 6 AA mod

It could still be the loader. I've had up to 19 on my Etek 1, with my loader on a slower speed, and without tweaking my settings for speed. Always do speed tests with fresh batteries too. There are also 2 readings on the ROF. you can view peak ROF which is timed between the fastest cycle, or average which I believe it actually averages over a second.

I am viewing the average since my peak says 32 from uncapped training mode. I wanna bet it is the loader. I know these things can shoot faster than 16 BPS.

i just installed my star frame on my etek2 and i use a halo b with v35 board and my etek2 goes to 27bps no problem..i have my cap set to 30bps the slowest my gun will go is 24bps i also use the rate of fire counter on my gun to tell me what my bps is at and those are the numbers i get..so the etek2 is in fact capable of reaching much higher than 16bps

Aye, it's the Rotor they are slow hoppers. I got my ETEK2 up to 27BPS with my Prophecy and got my 08 Ego to 30+ BPs with it

really the rotor is a slow loader? i was just thinking of buying either the rotor or the prophecy..i liked the rotor for its looks and function since dye says it goes up to 50 bps and i have seen drop tests of it going much faster than my halo b with v35 ..i like my halo b but am ready to buy a new loader just for the hell of it.also i saw the prophecy in person in a display case and it is so small i cant believe it is that small i thought it was a model of the loader..it looks micro is it really much smaller than the halo b? and also is the rotor that small?
