From Eclipse:

"Etek3 Emortal Board – The Emortal board is a fully-functioning LCD board. It uses the same 3-Button navigation console of an Ego or Geo, has the same LCD interface as the Ego and Geo, and has much of the GUI of the Geo and Ego. The Emortal board will drop into any all-metal Etek3 frame. So whether you have an Etek3 AM or Etek3 LT with optional Upgrade Kit installed, you can quickly and easily slide out your standard circuit board, slide in the Emortal board, swap out the Pushbutton Console on the back of the frame, and away you go."

First off on the Eclipse Website it states that ONLY the AM will be available to have the optional Upgrade kit installed, but when going to look at purchasing options for a buddy(gets discount online) over at ansgear it state what i highlighted in bold.

And with the release of the Etek 3 AM and LT (and me buying the LT) it states that the LT does not come with the Virtual board upgrade, and that its made out of aluminum. The aluminum issue does not concern me as i enjoy the feeling of a lightweight gun sometimes rather than my 15lbs A5 G63c replica. But here are my questions about being cheap lol, was it a fail on my part for not paying the extra $100+ and getting the AM?

With how after market companies are now, what are the chances of the LT getting a reflash, or a whole new board itself upgraded to compete with its pricey upgrade, or even better it?

Ive seen it done on the A5, on the X7 and other guns... but what about the Eteks? Does anyone know it this is a typo also?

My guess is that there is an upgrade like the star frames for the older eteks. You just have to buy the whole AM grip frame pre installed with the Emortal Board

How sure are we that it would bolt up, cause if ones made out of aluminum and ones made out of metal, im pretty sure the craftsmanship on the guns might be a little different which can cause an fitment issue.

the AM is aluminum body / frame, the LT is a composite "plastic" material instead

The LT is a nasty rugged marker. if you go that route, expect to find yourself buying the AM upgrade kit at a later time....youll get sick of LED color programming.

The AM comes with ability for the aftermarket board drop in, the LT does not, so you have to buy the optional upgrade kit

So what your saying is spend the money AM, and scrap the LT. Mainly because the "plastic/aluminum" base and LED suck compared to the "Metal" and Upgradeable board...

does the plastic/aluminum serve that big of a difference over the metal conditioning wise, or is it just a personal preference....

If you plan on upgrading to the Emortal board later, it will save you money later by just buying the AM now. The LT grip frame can't accept the Emortal board, and Eclipse offers the upgrade kit for the LT so that it can accept it. The upgrade kit just converts your LT to an AM model. If you want to save the money now and get out there playing (the route I tend to go) get the LT now and enjoy the new Eclipse marker. If you are 100% certain you will be upgrading to the Emortal board later then it wouldn't be a bad idea to spend more now and be ready for it. My $.02

The strength of the LT, I feel, is up to par as the AM.

With the strength factor out of the equation, it comes to the board. The LT cannot house the Emmortal board, but you have the following options:
1 - Purchase the AM upgrade, then install the Emmortal board (should have bought the AM in the first place then)
2 - The Virtue OLED board will fit inside the LT, however the grips do not. Stinger Paintball Designs can make you a set of Etek 3 fitted grips, but you'll have to ask them nicely to cut out a window for you. However, you will not need to upgrade to the AM.
3 - I know for certain that APE is working on an OLED board specifically for the Etek 3. Just means you'll have to wait for it, but you will not need the AM upgrade.
