Ego's are closed bolt correct?

Can you run high pressure tanks on em?

What barrel thread pattern do they use?

Etek's run on the same basic platform as an Ego I assume. If one was to get an Etek over an Ego, what would they be sacrificing as far as performance, reliability, ease of maintainence, etc.?

An Etek is an Ego... They operate in the same manner and are just as easy to maintain

They will perform the same as any other ego. Add a star frame and a zick kit, and you essentially have an 08 ego!

Realistically, what mileage do you get with an Ego? I watched a Techpb review of the SL8R and they had a 68/45k on approx. 4100 psi and shot 15 pods before it ran out of air. Is that normal?!

depending on the day 15-1600 average, I have gotten 3 1/2 bags once, but it was a 5k fill

Thanks Sideshow,

This thread answers my only driving question about getting an EGO/ETEK! I'm so glad I won't have to get an LP tank!

No an Ego is not a closed bolt marker.
You can use a HP tank, and it is recommended to do so.
They us Cocker threaded barrels

An Etek an ego without all of the "frills". Performance wise you will not get as high of rates of fire as an ego (stock), you will have a bit more kick than an ego (stock) but you will not lose any of the reliability or ease of maintenance. They are slightly more of a pain to program IMO, since it is an LED color display that you have to decode, vs read what is on the LCD display, but its still simple.

I get very good air efficiency with all of my Egos. I average 7-10 pds on a 45/45 before I'd have to fill.
As far as total life span. Well that can be a lot of shots. I've got an SL74 with around 200,000 shots and it still is a champion.
