Ok, so we all know the myths and brand myopia that come with paintball. Things like certain types of markers are only for certain types of play, and that things like an Eclipse aren't robust enough to handle the ravages of large scenario games. These are quite prevelant, and I'll even own up to making the mistake of believing some of these false statements at one time (I know... I know... :sniper:).
But since these little statements still seem to worm their way through, I thought it ironic the situation that was relayed to me recently, and I wanted to pass it on (in no small part so that we could all revel in the wonderfulness of our Egos... LOL :D).
A buddy who shall remain un-named recently played in a 2-day scenario which should have been renamed "Monsoon Wars". It rained massive amounts before the event, during setup and constantly rained for the 2 days of the event itself. Throughout this event, my buddy confidently ran his '08 Ego... an narry a hiccup was seen! :ak47::uzi:
No... he didn't do anything special (plastic bags covering parts, etc.)... just general maintenance. No, he wasn't just a sideline jockey... he was in a very active and constant role of the event. The point is that the Ego is just that good, and didn't need any help. :thumbs up:
Again, I know we are all happy and confident w/ our markers, but sometimes it's just nice to hear these stories from people and be able to point to them and say "See... another myth bites the dust" (or mud, as it were).
Anyone else have some "weather war stories"? Post up...
