What is the Etek/Etek2? The Etek Ego was designed from the ground up with simplicity, durability and affordability in mind, yet also to keep the same high level of performance that is expected from Eclipse products.
Etek Specifications: 2.47 lbs Height: 8.8" Length w/ barrel 20"
Etek2 Specifications: 2.2 lbs Height: 223mm Length: 543mm

Terms to know
Low Pressure Regulator (LPR): This controls the pressure of the air going to the solenoid. This is measured as turns in from "flush" meaning the screw is flush with the LPR caps end.
Dwell: This is how long the solenoid stays open (measured in Milliseconds), which allows air to the bolt
The Etek and Etek 2 Share many parts in common with the Ego 6.
06 Ego Parts used by Etek/Etek2
Same parts as 06 Ego:
Barrel (cocker threaded)
Bolt
CCU Kit ( Feed neck, LPR cap, eye covers, rammer cap.)
SL66 On/Off (Etek 1, the Etek 2 uses a Tslot ASA)
LPR Internals (ETek requires 2 gold springs instead of 1 gold, 1 silver!)
Most o-rings
Grips
Reg, same internals as and Ego 5 and 6
Trigger
06 Ego Parts not compatible with the Etek/Etek2
Different parts as 06 Ego:
Board
Solenoid
Rammer and housing
QEVs
Frame
Valve
LPR Springs
FRM (connects reg to marker)
What upgrades does Eclipse make for the Etek/Etek2?
Etek/Etek2 Star Frame
Zick Kit
Cure2 Bolt
Various colors of CCU Kits
Planet Eclipse STAR Inline Regulator
Lazer Eyes
Eclipse SL and Shaft III barrel kits
Q&A
Q:Can I use an Ego6 Star Frame on my Etek?
A: The Ego6 Star Frame is not a direct bolt up modification for the Etek, the modification can be done, but requires the frame to be milled.
Q: Can I use Dow33/Eclipse Grease/Sl33k on my Etek/Etek2?
A: Grease such as Dow33 / Eclipse Grease / Sl33k should only be used when lubricating the LPR and HPR. Only light paintball oil should be used on the rammer , bolt and other internals.
Q: I just installed my Star Frame on my Etek/Etek2 and now it will not shoot.
A: In the earlier manuals released by Planet Eclipse the instructions for properly installing the Low Pressure internal hoses was incorrect. Here is a direct quote posted by Nicky T. That should help resolve the issue.
Just to make sure that you are aware that on page 10 of the Etek STAR Frame Manual there is a slight mistake.
The text reads:
"Attach the shortest length of low pressure hose to the barb labelled "4" on the minifold, and attach the remaining length of low pressure hose to the barb labelled "2" on the minifold (see figure 1.13)"
This is infact INCORRECT: the short length of low pressure hose should go on the barb labelled "2" on the minifold, with the long length of low pressure hose going on the barb labelled "4" on the minifold.
Future manuals will have this mistake corrected.

Q: How do I setup my Etek/Etek2 for PSP 2009 Rules?
A: Quoted from 7lash of Eclipse
Etek 2 STAR Frame
To determine the firmware version, power up the marker by pushing and holding the middle button on the console, after a short delay the version number will be displayed on the LCD.
Firmware Version 1.20*
Select PRESET/LOAD/PSP 12 (high divisions) or PSP 10 (low divisions) from the Setup Menu.
Firmware Version 1.10
Select PRESET/LOAD/PSP 07 from the Setup Menu
Set the MAX ROF parameter to 12.0bps (high divisions) or 10.0bps (low divisions)
Set the OFF ROF parameter to 10bps
Firmware Version 1.00 – 1.01
Select PRESET/LOAD/PSP from the Setup Menu
Set the MAX ROF parameter to 12.0bps (high divisions) or 10.0bps (low divisions)
Set the OFF ROF parameter to 10bps
Etek 2
To determine the firmware version, power up the Etek2 as normal but do not release the Power button, after a short delay the version number will be indicated by flashing the blue leds in turn (for example, version 1.40 = 1 ‘e’ flash followed by 4 ‘g’ flashes followed by no ‘o’ flashes).
Firmware Version 1.40*
Set the Firing Mode parameter (red led) to 9 - Ramp 7 (high divisions) or 8 - Ramp 6 (low divisions).
Firmware Version 1.00 – 1.30
Set the Firing Mode parameter (red led) to 3 (Ramp 1).
Set the Maximum ROF (Capped) parameter (green led) to 12.0 (high divisions) or 10.0 (low divisions)
Set the Maximum ROF (BBSS Disabled) parameter (blue led) to 10.0
Etek 1
Set the Firing Mode parameter (red led) to 3 (Ramp 1).
Set the Maximum ROF (Capped) parameter (green led) to 12.0 (high divisions) or 10.0 (low divisions)
