I am really just wondering how everyone else in the paintball world takes care of there equipment? I know I personally didnt take that great of care of my stuff when I was younger probably. But ever since I started playing I did all the teching myself, I never once took a paintball marker in to be "repaired".

Now, even after a game with my tippmann I usually strip it if need be and clean it. I dont really baby it as much as the others (doesnt need it) but I still take good care of it.

Ill probably never be able to afford a new ego or something in that price range. I found my etek 1 on craigslist for $160 and its in great shape. And for what I put into the gun I traded for my F8 I probably put about $230 total into that as well, including the price of the marker. I strip which ever I am using after a day of play and clean everything on it and in it so im not that guy at the field cleaning his stuff out when he gets there. As well as my clothing I bought used but is in great shape as well, I put everything in the wash right after I get home so it doesnt stain. The part that really irks me is if I have to take my magna apart and clean it, that can be a pain in the *** but the more you do it the quicker it gets.

I know markers are just there to do what they do and thats shoot a ball down range the best they can. I think I Just baby my gear because im greatful to have it and enjoy it and I am just wondering how everyone else is with the gear they own.

I baby my markers.
EVERY time I play I give them a thorough wipe down and cleaning from any junk I pick up while on the field.
After the wipe down I separate the barrel and run some water through them then dry them by hand with a microfiber to make sure there is no paint left in the ports etc.
I break it down and lube the rammer and bolt orings.
Every 5 cases I break down the LPR and HPR and rebuild them.
I'm very meticulous in the care I give them. If it has sat for more than 2-3 weeks without use. I pull out the rammer lightly oil it and run some oil through the ASA.
All of my equipment (except pants and Jersey and soft goods) remain in pristine condition because of the care they receive.
My soft goods are cleaned the night after play in most cases, but because of how much I play and the nature of tourney paintball they do take a beating but they continue to last.

Yup. Complete tear down of the A5 for cleaning, inspection and oiling. I wash out my hopper, pods, and barrels. Clean all my gear. I'm am rediculously anal about cleaning my mask! It has to be like new.

I have always been a nut for keeping my equipment cleaned. My soft gear gets washed every time after usage. And all my gear regardless gets a thorough wipe down. As far as my markers. Tippmanns get ASA oiled and dry fired before and after every usage. They also get a complete break down after every 5-6 cases. My ego's, they get torn down every 5-6 cases as an ego tech told me that was all that is needed. My Dye hoppers (mine and my sons), They might get wore out as I can stop breaking them down and putting them back together because its too easy..lol

I have always babied my stuff too. My Tippmanns get the royal treatment of complete teardown and cleaning after each game; and now the same with my pump and Ego. Since I'm still learning the last two, it is good for me to get in the habit of tearing them down to figure them out.

My soft goods also get a thorough cleaning each time. I want my gear to remain in perfect working order and ready to go at a moments notice.
